A balloon flight is an amazing adventure, but one that requires adequate preparation. Before taking to the air, each passenger participates in a briefing conducted by the pilot. This briefing is a key element in ensuring the safety and comfort of the trip.

Health – safety first

Safety is our top priority. Therefore, before boarding, each passenger answers questions about his or her health, including any illnesses or surgeries that may affect the safety of the flight. People under the influence of alcohol or other psychoactive substances are not allowed to participate in the flight – rules that guarantee the safety of everyone on board. Pregnant women should not fly in a balloon.

Filling the balloon – the beginning of the adventure

The process of filling the balloon begins with the preparation of the basket and shell, and attaching to the car with a rope equipped with a so-called “quick release”. It is important to be careful during this activity and not to stand between the basket and the vehicle. Do not approach the fan that forces cold air into the canopy. Those willing to help set up the balloon must undergo a short training session with the pilot.

Entering the balloon – preparing for launch

Once the balloon is filled with hot air, the pilot will give the command for passengers to take their seats in the gondola. It is important to do this efficiently and with attention to the surroundings, paying attention to control cables and wires. You should add weight to the balloon as soon as possible, it is then more stable especially in stronger winds. The heaviest people in the group should enter first.

Landing position – preparation for the final

Even before takeoff, the landing position will be practiced. Regardless of the advancing speed, the feet should be joined together and the knees slightly bent. For this time you should position yourself with your side or back to the direction of flight. There are handles installed in each basket, which you should hold on to with both hands; do not grab the control cables, fuel lines and cylinder valves. Do not put your hands over the side. You should also secure all valuables like your phone or camera before landing. For added security, bundle up long hair, and remove scarves, scarves, long necklaces and similar items. Tighten your muscles before making contact with the ground, the basket can be dragged along the ground for a while.

The command to assume the landing posture will, of course, be given by the pilot before the end of the flight.

After landing – rules of conduct

It is very important not to leave the deck without the permission of the pilot. Even the smallest loss of weight can cause the balloon to float again. After getting permission to exit the nacelle, be careful of the heated burners. If necessary, assist the pilot-in-command in maneuvering the balloon on the ground by strictly following his instructions

After a safe landing, it is crucial that passengers do not leave the balloon without the pilot’s permission. Even the smallest loss of weight can cause the balloon to float again. After getting permission to exit the gondola, watch out for hot burners. If necessary, assist the pilot-in-command in maneuvering the balloon on the ground strictly following his instructions.

Summary

Balloon flight is a unique experience, but one that requires proper preparation and awareness of safety rules. Following the pilot’s instructions and attending the briefing are key to guaranteeing a safe and memorable flight.
